A 107-room Cambria Hotel is set to be built at the Thunder Bay International Airport, marking the brands first Cambria-branded hotel in Canada. The project, led by Rideout Bay Developments and owned by First Nations represents a significant boost to the region’s hospitality and transportation infrastructure.
Located directly adjacent to the airport terminal, the hotel will provide seamless access for travelers while strengthening Thunder Bay’s role as the premier aviation gateway and a key economic driver for Northern Ontario. Construction begins this summer, with an opening date expected September 2027.
“This development represents a major milestone for the Thunder Bay Airport and our community and an exciting partnership with First Nations Communities,” said Graham Ingham, President and CEO of the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority. “By expanding on-site accommodations and services, we are improving the overall travel experience for passengers and supporting regional growth. The Hotel will be 90% First Nations owned and will feature a stunning four storey tall First Nations themed mural and other unique design aspects.”

The hotel will feature modern guest rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, fitness facilities, and flexible meeting and conference space for business and regional events.
