Accessibility Week – May 25-29, 2026

Accessibility Week at Thunder Bay International Airport is a dedicated initiative focused on improving the travel experience for all passengers by raising awareness, fostering inclusion, and promoting accessible practices across the airport. Throughout the week, we will highlight the importance of understanding diverse passenger needs and creating a more supportive, barrier-free environment.
We are excited to welcome accessibility partners to take part in this event through engaging pop-up activations and interactive opportunities. These experiences will include sessions designed specifically for anxious travellers to explore the airport in a comfortable, low-stress setting, as well as educational courses that provide valuable insight into the various challenges passengers may face when travelling. Together, we aim to build greater empathy, knowledge, and collaboration in support of accessible air travel for everyone.
If you are interested in participating in accessibility week as a partner, please feel free to reach out to us at info@fyqt.ca or by calling 807-473-2600
Airport Worker’s Day – June 25, 2026

Thunder Bay Airport is proud to once again participate in Airport Workers Day, an initiative we have happily supported since its inception through Canadian Airport’s Council (CAC). With more than 150 million passengers expected to travel through Canadian airports this year and over 224,000 direct airport jobs supporting this movement, this day is an important opportunity to recognize the incredible people behind the scenes.
Airport Workers Day is a coordinated celebration across the country, where airports show appreciation for employees who go the extra mile every day—connecting people, supporting communities, and linking Canada to the world.
At Thunder Bay Airport we’ll be celebrating with a variety of appreciation activities, recognizing the many roles that keep our airport running smoothly. From equipment operators to customer service agents, security personnel to maintenance crews, firefighters to administrative staff—our workforce is as diverse as it is essential.
Air travel depends on a dedicated network of professionals working together to ensure safe and seamless journeys. On Airport Workers Day, we proudly celebrate and thank every member of our airport community.
If you are an airport employee, please join us on Thursday, June 25, 2026. More information to follow.
